Train service was suspended on Monday for security reasonsin the Kashmir valley in view of joint resistance leadership shutdown call onthe third death anniversary of militant commander Burhan Wani.
An official said that the train service has been suspendedfollowing an advisory received on Sunday night from the police.Therefore, hesaid, no train will chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmirto Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also not run onSrinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, an official said.
Burhan Wani and his two associates were killed in a briefencounter with counter insurgent forces in Bamdoora village of Kokernag area insouth Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
